Istria Football Festival
Over Ascension Day, the Mediterranean port city of Umag on the Croatian Adriatic coast was transformed into a true football stronghold. Almost 70 teams from 7 different countries, including Hungary, Belgium, Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Croatia itself, played for the coveted trophy. 🏆
The kick-off was a big and probably the loudest opening ceremony ever, right in the amphitheatre of the Plava Laguna resort by the sea. Freestyler Tommy Rist made a grand entrance, thrilling not only the little ones but also the grown-ups with his tricks. 🥳
Exciting games, entertainment at the game stations and great weather characterised the rest of the day. On Saturday, the award ceremony took place on the great tournament grounds, where every player could take home their own player's trophy as well as a large trophy for the team.
The Istria Football Festival has already exceeded all expectations at the first edition and will be remembered forever with great memories for players, coaches and parents. We are already planning for 2024 and are looking forward to another great football tournament on the Croatian Adriatic coast. Be there when we open our gates again under the Umag sun from 9 to 12 May 2024 and celebrate a football festival in a class of its own.
